Using Natriuretic Peptide Testing to Identify and Manage Heart Failure

Title: Utilizing Natriuretic Peptide Testing to Identify and Manage Heart Failure

Date: Tuesday, May 27, 2025

Time: 2 p.m. ET

Presenter: Lori B. Daniels, MD, MAS, FACC, FAHA

Heart failure is a growing issue in the U.S., with nearly 6.7 million adults affected, a number expected to rise to 8.5 million by 2030. This increase in prevalence presents a challenge for patients because it impacts their quality of life. These increases also significantly impact healthcare institutions that have been contending with a lack of resources.

This webinar will address these concerns by providing valuable insights into the latest treatments and strategies for managing heart failure, including the role brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) levels can play in diagnosing and managing the disease. Attendees will gain knowledge to help improve patient outcomes, reduce the strain on the healthcare system, and enhance their clinical practices in managing heart failure effectively.

Learning Objectives

This webinar will help you:

  • Explain how BNP levels reflect the heart's function and how they can be used to identify patients at risk of developing heart failure
  • Discuss the role of BNP in diagnosing and risk-stratifying patients with heart failure and in guiding their management
  • Review the interplay between diabetes and heart failure and how natriuretic peptides can aid implementation of guideline-directed therapies in heart failure and diabetes
